Misunderstanding of creating slides What is the common misunderstanding of creating slides

Colorful figures and images, 3Dized graphs, movies ,,,

The technique of visual creation is evolving rapidly, but what if you look at it from the reader's point of view?

It is a typical impression of decision makers and bosses that wasteful, eventually you do not know what you want to say.

The important thing in slide reports is not looking good.
It is to clearly construct the content, that is, the "idea" that you want to convey.

An obscure slide can be seen everywhere

"Is this the only thing I want to say with this number of sheets?"

"So what do you want to say in the end?" "Wait a moment. Why does this come to a conclusion?" It is a typical reaction of a boss who listens to your slide report.

  • Anyway, there are many useless slides. Pasting of meaningless pictures and images appears everywhere. As a result, content that seems likely to be one slide is bulging on three thin slides of contents.
  • It is displayed with a stereoscopic graph that seemingly looks good though it is simple with a simple bar graph. However, because it was made into a stereoscopic display, it became difficult to read the numerical value from the axis.
  • The explanation of the slide is displayed in colorful colors. However, because the color number is used too much, the part to really emphasize is inconspicuous.

The slides are packed with colorful figures and images and seem to be using a lot of time to improve their appearance. Unfortunately, I do not spend much time thinking about contents. In other words, it is a thin slide of contents. "Contents are thin" means that "I have no idea".
Apparently there seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding concerning slide creation.
